Introduction to Protective Behaviours and the Language of Safety

Target Audience 

This is a half day basic introductory course for promoting awareness about Protective Behaviours.

Protective Behaviours is a practical, down to earth, approach to personal safety. It works towards creating non-violent individuals, families and communities and satisfies the need for fun and excitement without violence and fear.  This session will provide an overview of the process and one aspect: The Language of Safety - the glue that holds the Protective Behaviours Process together - which can improve the quality of communication and relationships in the home, school, work place and community

This training session is primarily for those professionals (statutory and voluntary) who; either work infrequently or have regular contact with children and young people (Working Together 2013 / 2015 Groups 1and 2)

Aims and Learning Outcomes

For attendees to:

Have an overview and understanding of what the Protective Behaviours process is

Have an insight into using the language of safety within both professional and personal life
