3 tips when purchasing an oak table

An oak table of a few years old has been lived and has character. It says something about the people who have used him as those years. It is not for nothing that used wooden furniture and floors often cost more money than brand new wood. But to get such a nice character oak table you should usually buy one new one. Where should you be careful if you are looking for a table of oak? To begin with, it is important to determine which style suits you. There is plenty of choice. Yet there are a few rules of thumb that you should pay attention to at a dining table. We put 3 in a row.
1. About taste does not dispute
When choosing an oak dining table, go out from your own taste and not so much of the trend that is at the moment. Trends pass by and an oak table lasts decades. But what is your taste? Are you going for modern, classic, stylish or nostalgic? Want a table 1, 2, 3, 4 or even 6 legs? And where should those legs be made of? The chassis can of course also be carried out in oak, but maybe you are charmed from brushed steel or shiny chrome? So that will be tasting in many different furniture stores until you feel a good feeling somewhere.
2. Comfortable
If you have an oak table you want to sit comfortably. The correct height is an important condition. In general, a dining table between 75 and 80 centimeters is high. That is a standard height and great for people with an average length between 1.75 and 1.90. As people have become increasing over the years and Dutch people are the longest people in the world, a higher table can be desirable. So if you are longer than 1.90 is a higher table of 80 centimeters or higher better, but if you are smaller than 1.75 is a table of up to 75 centimeters or lower suitably. Also look at the possible armrests of your dining room chairs. It is annoying if it comes to the edge of the table top.
3. Large enough or too large?
A little dining table takes a lot of space. It is therefore important that you look in advance or a table is large enough for the number of people that usually looks like. Too big so that everyone knows and the table is far too close to other furniture and walls is not desirable either. Remember that 25 centimeters can make more or less a big difference. And also don’t forget that there are also chairs around it. Around the table you need at least 60 centimeters of space to sit smoothly at the table. For example, place a tablecloth or sheet of the same large as the table on the ground to get an idea.
